Is that the rhino?

Brawn lives to pit himself against physical challenges and to prove his mighty strength. In his opinion, the Autobot alliance with NEST is a great thing, as it gives him ready opportunity to do just that. Brawn possesses special indestructible fists that he's dying to put to the test against the legendary Decepticon powerhouse Rampage.[1] He's also got dense armor capable of withstanding even the strongest of enemy fire.

"Bet you weren't expecting me to appear in this movie."

Brawn was among the Autobots fending off a wave of Decepticon forces led by Shockwave and Soundwave. After warning his allies about snipers, he was promptly shot in the shoulder. In spite of this wound, he survived and was eventually ordered to retreat by Optimus Prime. Tasked with finding other Autobots scattered throughout the galaxy and rendezvous on Earth, he managed to leave Cybertron in an escape pod. Bumblebee

Whoa.

Brawn had the misfortune to be on duty at NEST's South African prison when Bludgeon staged a jailbreak! The Autobot took charge, telling his partners things were likely to get ugly, and ordered Smokescreen to stay behind him while he, having tougher armour, soaked up enemy firepower. Unfortunately, it proved too much and despite his determination, Brawn fell before Bludgeon's might. He would have died if reinforcements hadn't turned up, and was horrified when (to prevent civilian casualties) those reinforcements let the Decepticons go, in full view of the human media. Brawn, at some point, was captured and brainwashed by the Initiative into being one of their soldiers. His colors were altered and he was thrown at an Autobot/NEST team in the Initiative's final battle. Nefarious #5 Nefarious #6

Along with the other brainwashed Autobots, he was eager to return to battle but Optimus told them they still needed to recuperate after the mental trauma they had suffered. Rising Storm #1 While Optimus and his team went to save Sam Witwicky from a Decepticon attack, Brawn and the other refugees remained on Diego Garcia, nostalgically staring at pictures from Cybertron's past. In their docile state, they were found and killed by Shockwave. Rising Storm #3 Shortly after his death, a grave was made for him. Dark of the Moon #1

  • Brawn (Deluxe Class, 2010)
Revenge of the Fallen: N.E.S.T. Global Alliance Brawn transforms into a modified NEST Hummer HX attack vehicle. He is armed with a pair of removable pistols with grooves in the handles (which, in an undocumented feature, can be clipped to the thin ridges on his back or shoulder kibble) and a non-removable machine gun that can be positioned to aim over either shoulder in robot mode and is mounted on his roof in vehicle mode. As another undocumented feature, his head is mounted on a jointed neck strut, and can be pushed back to reveal his neck and bring his head up past his shoulders. The bars at the back are also compatible with the 3mm clips featured in later toylines.
This mold was also used to make Transformers: Reveal the Shield Fallback and served as the basis of the non-toy Beast Wars: Uprising version of B'Boom.

That vehicle mode looks like it belongs on the side of an arcade game cabinet from 1982.
  • Brawn (Deluxe Class, 2022)
Part of the fifteenth wave of Hasbro's Studio Series Deluxes (29th wave in TakaraTomy's version of the line), this version of Brawn comes with a drill and a rifle and is based on his appearance in the Bumblebee movie. He transforms from a highly screen-accurate robot into a Cybertronian off-road vehicle, the design for which was created by Hasbro and TakaraTomy's toy designers as Brawn's CGI model in the film was not intended to transform. He has a small 3 mm peg on top of his roof, which ends up on his back in robot mode, that can be used to mount either of his accessories. His front axle's central box unit can swing up 90 degrees to reveal a 5 mm port to mount his drill accessory. Otherwise, the drill can be a hand-held weapon. Like his alternate mode, this drill does not derive from the movie; instead, it is inspired by the original Brawn using a car-mode drill in the episode "The Ultimate Doom, Part 1".
Though the rifle looks similar to those packed in with his wavemates Ratchet and Wheeljack (matching the re-used rifle model in the movie), each one is actually a separate mold with slightly varied sculpted details. Uniquely, the barrel of Brawn's rifle is 5 mm compatible, allowing you to attach the drill to form some sort of drill-gun, or any other 5 mm accessory (including Fire Blast effects). There are two 3 mm ports on the rifle, one on the bottom to attach to the roof in vehicle mode and one on the side to attach to his back in robot mode. There is also a 3 mm peg on top of the gun for yet another storage location for Brawn's drill.
Like the other Studio Series toys, the interior of the package forms a display backdrop, this backdrop being a war-torn Cybertron as it appears in the beginning of the film.

Notes

ROTF Brawn Original Resin Sculpt.jpg
  • Brawn shares many similarities with his Generation 1 namesake, such as personality and color scheme.
    • Revenge of the Fallen Brawn's robot mode details and proportions are specifically based on G1 Brawn's original Generation 1 Mini Vehicle toy, with his head and the panel kibble on his arms being prime examples.
    • The homage goes full circle in Bumblebee, as Brawn's design is heavily inspired by his Generation 1 namesake.
  • Brawn's Revenge of the Fallen design appears to have been used as the basis for the Robot Powered Machines-original character, Rollbar.
  • Design documents and the resin sculpt for Brawn both indicate that the Deluxe Class toy's vehicle mode was originally supposed to have a stronger resemblance to the NEST Hummer that it is based on. The toy's final vehicle mode is, in comparison, rather genericized.
  • If you look closely in Bumblebee, you'll notice that Brawn's Cybertronian model uses a recolored version of the same feet design as Bumblebee and Cliffjumper.
  • G1 Brawn was also homaged in Firetrap.
