PrimePages Privacy Statement

We have created this privacy statement in order to state our firm commitment to privacy.  The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for this web site: The Prime Pages (this includes the files on the server t5k.org). Summary: We neither seek nor store any identifying information other that what you explicitly give us. We only use this information to give you credit for the primes and curios that you submit.

This site contains links to many other sites. The Prime Pages is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites.

Primality provers (the titans):

Those who choose to submit primes are required to disclose their e-mail address, give a 'real' name/surname, selct a username and a password.  The password is never disclosed (and in fact is stored encrypted so we do not know what it is).

This e-mail address is required solely so that the Prime Pages may contact the individual if errors are found, questions arise about the primality method, spoofing has been detected...  We never disclose these e-mail addresses to others unless the individual has chosen to make their address public.  This choice can be changed at any time by using the "edit bio" link at the bottom of the individual's prover account (bio) pages.

We also allow these provers to post biographical information, web addresses...; but they may always change or remove their information (and whether their e-mail address is public) via the links on the individual prover account (bio) pages.

Provers may have their accounts removed by emailing admin@t5k.org (in which case credit for the primes will be changed to anonymous).

Prime Curio Submissions:

Those who submit Prime Curios! are required to disclose their e-mail address so that we may correspond with them.  The e-mail address is not made public unless the individual requests it by e-mailing the Prime Curio Editors.

This e-mail address is required solely so that the Prime Curios! editors may contact the individual (if errors are found, questions arise about the curio, ...)  We never disclose these e-mail addresses to others unless the individual has chosen to make their address public.

Server Stats

As is the usual case with web sites, our server logs include which pages are requested by which IP addresses.  This helps us determine how the site is being used so that we may improve its navigation.  We also may use the IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, and otherwise to administer our Web site.

Cookies

At times cookies are used on the prime submission page to fill in the prover name and prover code for the user.  The rest of our public pages do not use cookies and we will never write a page that requires the user to use cookies.  Refusing cookies should always be a legitimate choice!

Security

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.

Children's Guidelines

We request that children never publicly post or distribute personally identifiable contact information without prior parental consent.  We do not request any such information.
