Google Docs now lets you run advanced searches for documents, spreadsheets and presentations. You can search by document type, date modified, who the documents are shared with and more. Once you set up a search, you can save your search criteria to easily run the same search at a later time

How to access what's new:
Sign in to Google Docs and click "Show search options". After entering your search criteria, click "Save this search" to have Google Docs remember the properties for your search. To run a saved search, choose the search you want from the "Saved searches" menu in the left panel or next to the search box at the top of the screen.

You can now export a Google Presentation to the PowerPoint (.ppt) file format.

Google App Engine is a development and hosting platform that allows developers to host web-based applications on Google's infrastructure. Google App Engine is currently available as a limited preview release.

The Google Email uploader allows users to import messages and contacts stored locally in Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express and Thunderbird into Gmail.

In the Google Docs document list, you can now change the colors of folders to help you organize your files more effectively. Also, users can now transfer ownership of documents and presentations, so the creator doesn't need to completely delete the file if she no longer wants to have that document or presentation in her document list.

To change the color of a folder, sign in to Google Docs, select a folder and click the 'Choose color' link. To transfer ownership of a document or presentation, right click the file in your document list and click 'Change Owner'.

Google Docs now has an improved menu bar when you're editing a document. You can select features from menus, or click icons in the toolbar for frequently-used features. The 'Save' and 'Save & Close' buttons also now appear above the toolbar.

Gmail's faster, more flexible new codebase is now becoming generally available to Google Apps users. This change brings a faster interface and several new features including group chat from the browser, a streamlined contact manager, colored message labels, improved keyboard shortcuts and bookmarkable messages and searches.

Spreadsheet gadgets let you visualize your data in interesting, intuitive ways. For example, you can see addresses on an interactive map, or create dynamic time series charts that let you zoom in and scroll through a graph.

Revision notifications let you set up alerts so you know when someone makes changes to a spreadsheet.

Other new features include the ability to select cells for formulas with arrow keys, an expanded color palette, text auto-complete from other cells in the same column, a new function auto-complete feature, and new sort(), filter() and unique() functions.

Users can now synchronize their Google Calendar accounts with their Microsoft Outlook calendars. Synchronization works in both directions, or users can choose to only sync in one direction.
