Scientists and engineers have been constructing models of complex phenomena for centuries. Computational simulation plays a crucial role in helping us understand important aspects of these systems, predict their states under various conditions, and make informed decisions for their control. Simulation technology has become an indispensable tool for research, development, and operations across numerous fields. Much of the technological progress in our modern society hinges on continual advances in the field of simulation.

Since 2019, the Cluster of Excellence EXC 2075 "Data-Integrated Simulation Science," which is part of the Stuttgart Center for Simulation Science, has been addressing a multitude of novel research challenges. This initiative focuses on leveraging the insights and knowledge obtainable from the vast amounts of data generated by sensors, digitized collections, experiments, and simulations.
