Matilda de Holand was born circa 1359.1 She was the daughter of Thomas de Holand, 1st Earl of Kent and Joan of Kent, Countess of Kent.2 She married, firstly, Sir Hugh de Courtenay, 3rd Lord Courtenay, son of Sir Hugh de Courtenay and Elizabeth de Vere, circa 5 September 1365.3 She married, secondly, Waleran de Luxembourg, Comte de St. Pol et Ligny after 1377.1 She died before 13 April 1392.3

Agnes de St. John was born in 1275 at Basing, Hampshire, EnglandG.2 She was the daughter of John de St. John and Alice FitzPiers.1 She married Hugh de Courtenay, 1st Earl of Devon, son of Sir Hugh de Courtenay and Eleanor le Despencer, in 1292.1 She died on 11 June 1345.1
From 1292, her married name became de Courtenay. After her marriage, Agnes de St. John was styled as Countess of Devon on 22 February 1334/35.

Hugh de Vere, 4th Earl of Oxford was born circa 1210.2 He was the son of Robert de Vere, 3rd Earl of Oxford and Isabel de Bolebec.1 He married Hawise de Quincy, daughter of Saher de Quency, 1st Earl of Winchester, after 11 February 1222/23.2 He died before 23 December 1263.2
He held the office of Hereditary Master Chamberlain of England from 1221 to 1263.2 He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Oxford [E., 1142] on 25 October 1221.2 He was appointed Knight in 1233.2 He was styled as Baron de Bolebec in February 1245.1
