Captain Claud Edward Stracey-Clitherow was born on 29 March 1855.2 He is the son of Reverend William James Stracey-Clitherow and Maria Diana Bourchier.3 He married, firstly, Alice Maud Paget, daughter of General Lord Alfred Henry Paget and Cecilia Wyndham, on 2 October 1897.1 He married, secondly, Winifred Elias, daughter of Dr. James Elias, on 2 September 1930.2 He died on 3 December 1940 at age 85, without issue.2
He was given the name of Claud Edward Stracey at birth.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Scots Guards.1
