Mary Elizabeth Leslie, Countess of Rothes was born on 9 July 1811.1 She was the daughter of George Leslie and Henrietta Anne Evelyn-Leslie, Countess of Rothes.1 She married Captain Martin Edward Haworth-Leslie on 11 August 1835.1 She died on 19 September 1893 at age 82.1

He succeeded as the 19th Lord Leslie [S., 1445] on 19 September 1893.2 He succeeded as the 19th Earl of Rothes [S., 1458] on 19 September 1893.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 6th Volunteer Battalion, Black Watch.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Fife Royal Field Artillery.2 He was appointed Representative Peer [Scotalnd] between 1906 and 1923.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Fife.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 4th Battalion, Devonshire Regiment.2 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Highland Cyclist Battalion.2

Lucy Noëlle Martha Dyer-Edwardes usually went by her middle name of Noëlle.1 After her marriage, Lucy Noëlle Martha Dyer-Edwardes was styled as Countess of Rothes on 19 April 1900. From 19 April 1900, her married name became Leslie. On 14 April 1912 she survived the sinking of R.M.S. Titanic.3 From 22 December 1927, her married name became Macfie.
