Lt.-Col. Alexander Haldane Farquharson of Invercauld was born on 12 March 1867.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. James Ross Farquharson of Invercauld and Elizabeth Louisa Oswald.2 He married Zoë Caroline Musgrave, daughter of Sir Richard Courtenay Musgrave, 11th Bt. and Adora Frances Olga Wells, on 16 January 1893.1 He died on 17 March 1936 at age 69.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG. He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1888 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1889 in the 10th Hussars.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 10th (Service) Battalion, Gordon Highlanders.1 He held the office of Member of the Aberdeenshire County Council between 1897 and 1935.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 7th Battalion, Gordon Highlanders between 1905 and 1910.1 He fought in the First World War between 1915 and 1918, in France.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) in 1921.1 He lived at Braemar Castle, ScotlandG.1

Sir Richard Courtenay Musgrave, 11th Bt. was born on 21 August 1838.2 He was the son of Sir George Musgrave, 10th Bt. and Charlotte Graham.3 He married Adora Frances Olga Wells, daughter of Peter Wells and Adora Julia Lethbridge, on 17 January 1867.1,2 He died on 13 February 1881 at age 42.2
He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Westmorland.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for East Cumberland.2 He gained the rank of officer in the 71st Highland Light Infantry.2 He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Musgrave, of Hartley Castle, Westmorland [E., 1611] on 29 December 1872.2

Myrtle Farquharson of Invercauld was born in 1897.1 She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Alexander Haldane Farquharson of Invercauld and Zoë Caroline Musgrave.2 She married Robin Emile Frederick Regis d'Erlanger, Baron d'Erlanger, son of Baron Emile Beaumont d'Erlanger, on 9 July 1925.1 She died on 11 May 1941, killed by enemy action.1
From 9 July 1925, her married name became d'Erlanger.1 She was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated her arms at the Lyons Court on 3 December 1936.1 As of 3 December 1936, Myrtle Farquharson of Invercauld used the pen-name of Myrtle Farquharson of Invercauld.1
