     Frances Katharine Mellish was the daughter of Very Rev. Edward Mellish and Elizabeth Jane Leigh.1,2 She married Rt. Hon. Sir Andrew Buchanan, 1st Bt., son of James Buchanan and Lady Janet Sinclair, on 4 April 1839.1 She died on 1 December 1854 at Copenhagen, Denmark.1,2
     From 4 April 1839, her married name became Buchanan.

     Hon. Georgiana Elizabeth Stuart was born in 1821. She was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Robert Walter Stuart, 11th Lord Blantyre and Fanny Mary Rodney.1 She married Rt. Hon. Sir Andrew Buchanan, 1st Bt., son of James Buchanan and Lady Janet Sinclair, on 27 May 1857.1 She died on 21 March 1904.1
     Her married name became Bonham. Her married name became Buchanan.

     Maj.-Gen. Robert Walter Stuart, 11th Lord Blantyre was born on 10 June 1777.1 He was the son of Alexander Stuart, 10th Lord Blantyre and Catharine Lindsay.1 He married Fanny Mary Rodney, daughter of Captain Hon. John Rodney and Lady Catherine Nugent, on 20 February 1813 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 He died on 22 September 1830 at age 53 at Brussels, BelgiumG, killed by a chance shot during the insurrection of Brussels.1 His will was proven (by probate) in January 1832.1
     He gained the title of 11th Lord Blantyre [S., 1606] on 5 November 1783.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Ensign in 1795 in the 3rd Foot Guards.1 He fought in the campaign in Holland in 1799.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 31st Foot.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 7th Dragoons.1 He fought in the Egyptian War in 1801.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 42nd Foot.1 He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1806 and 1807.1 He fought in the Peninsular Wars in 1809.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) on 4 June 1815.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1819.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Renfrewshire between 1820 and 1822.1

     Meriel Buchanan was born on 5 September 1886.1 She was the daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir George William Buchanan and Lady Georgina Meriel Bathurst.1 She married Major Harold Wilfrid Knowling, son of Arthur Knowling, on 30 May 1925.1 She died on 6 February 1959 at age 72.1
     Her married name became Knowling. She was an authoress.1

     Major Harold Wilfrid Knowling was the son of Arthur Knowling. He married Meriel Buchanan, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir George William Buchanan and Lady Georgina Meriel Bathurst, on 30 May 1925.1 He died on 15 September 1954.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the Welsh Guards.1
