     Sir George Rivers was born on 28 February 1554.1 He was the son of Sir John Rivers and Elizabeth Barne.1 He married, secondly, Judith Humphrey, daughter of Dr. Lawrence Humphrey.1 He married, firstly, Frances Bowyer, daughter of William Bowyer, circa 1579.1 He died on 20 February 1630 at age 75.1
     He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for East Grinstead between 1597 and 1601.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Southwark in 1604.1 He was appointed Knight on 30 July 1605.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for East Grinstead in 1614.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lewes between 1625 and 1628.1
