     From 1908, her married name became Astley-Rushton.¹

     Sir James Barr was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Physicians, London (F.R.C.P.)² He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society, Edinburgh (F.R.S.E.)² He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.)²

     Colonel James Frederic Astley Astley-Rushton was born on 31 July 1911.¹ He is the son of Vice-Admiral Edward Astley Astley-Rushton and Vera Evelyn Barr.¹ He married Joan Sylvia Southey, daughter of Captain Charles Bonham Southey, in 1946.¹
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.¹ He graduated from Trinity Hall, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the 7th Queen's Own Hussars.¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in dispatches.¹ He was with the Diplomatic Service in 1963.¹

     John Douglas Gaskell Walker married Joan Sylvia Southey, daughter of Captain Charles Bonham Southey.¹

     Julius James David Edward Astley-Rushton was born on 4 June 1952.¹ He is the son of Colonel James Frederic Astley Astley-Rushton and Joan Sylvia Southey.¹
