Colonel Sir Edward Archibald Ruggles-Brise, 1st Bt. was born on 9 September 1882.2 He was the son of Archibald Weyland Ruggles-Brise and Mabel Coope.3 He married, firstly, Agatha Gurney, daughter of John Henry Gurney and Margaret Jane Gurney, on 28 June 1906.2 He married, secondly, Lucy Barbara Pym, daughter of Rt. Rev. Walter Ruthven Pym and Lucy Anne Threlfall, on 14 March 1939.2 He died on 12 May 1942 at age 59.2
