George Bull was born on 10 May 1877 at Newry, County Down, Ireland.1 He was the son of Robert George Bull.1 He married Norah Muriel Warburton, daughter of Joseph William Warburton and Lady Frances Isabella Anna King, on 8 January 1907 at Bankipore, Bengal, India.1 He died on 11 December 1916 at age 39 at Somme, France, from wounds received in action four days earlier.1
     He fought in the Boer War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 5th Royal Irish Rifles.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in dispatches four times.1 He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in 1916 in the 8th Infantry Brigade, 3rd Division.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) on 3 June 1916.1
