     He gained the rank of Major in the 1st Royal Berkshire Regiment.1

     Fitzroy Hemphill, 3rd Baron Hemphill was born on 21 November 1860.1 He was the son of Charles Hare Hemphill, 1st Baron Hemphill and Augusta Mary Stanhope.1 He married Mary Martyn, daughter of Andrew Martyn and Mary Dolphin, on 27 February 1897.1 He died on 25 November 1930 at age 70.1
     He was admitted to Middle Temple entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the King's Own Scottish Borderers.1 He was awarded the Chevalier, Legion of Honour.1 He held the office of Member of the London City Council between 1901 and 1910.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Hemphill, of Rathkenny and Cashel, co. Tipperary [U.K., 1906] on 26 March 1919.1

     Mary Martyn was born on 29 November 1864 at County Dublin, Ireland.2 She was the daughter of Andrew Martyn and Mary Dolphin.1,3 She married Fitzroy Hemphill, 3rd Baron Hemphill, son of Charles Hare Hemphill, 1st Baron Hemphill and Augusta Mary Stanhope, on 27 February 1897.1 She died on 25 August 1958 at age 93 at County Dublin, Ireland.1
     From 27 February 1897, her married name became Hemphill.3 After her marriage, Mary Martyn was styled as Baroness Hemphill on 26 March 1919.

     Martyn Charles Andrew Hemphill, 4th Baron Hemphill was born on 17 February 1901.1 He was the son of Fitzroy Hemphill, 3rd Baron Hemphill and Mary Martyn.1 He married Emily Sears, daughter of F. Irving Sears, on 10 September 1927 at St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York City, New York, U.S.A.G.1 He and Emily Sears were divorced in 1945.1 He died on 19 March 1957 at age 56.1
     He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1922 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was admitted to Kings Inns in 1930 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baron Hemphill, of Rathkenny and Cashel, co.      Peter Patrick Fitzroy Martyn-Hemphill, 5th Baron Hemphill was born on 5 September 1928.1 He was the son of Martyn Charles Andrew Hemphill, 4th Baron Hemphill and Emily Sears.1 He married Olivia Anne Ruttledge, daughter of Major Robert Francis Ruttledge and Mabel Rose Burke, on 17 April 1952.1 He died on 6 April 2012 at age 83.2
     He was given the name of Peter Patrick Fitzroy Hemphill at birth.1 He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Hemphill, of Rathkenny and Cashel, co.
