     John Wemyss of Wemyss was born circa 1425.2 He was the son of David Wemyss of Methil and Wemyss and Christian (?)2 He married, secondly, Helen Dunbar.2 He married Margaret Livingstone, daughter of Sir Robert Livingstone of Drumry, before 1448.2 He and Margaret Livingstone were divorced in 1489.2 He died on 22 February 1502/3.2
     He tried to buy back more of his family lands.2
