     Sir Alexander Maitland Sharp Bethune, 10th Bt. was born on 28 March 1909.1 He was the son of Sir Alexander Sharp Bethune of Scotscraig, 9th Bt. and Elizabeth Carnegie Maitland-Heriot.1 He married Ruth Mary Hayes, daughter of James Hurst Hayes, on 11 January 1955.2,3 He died on 20 May 1997 at age 88.4
     He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Sharp, of Scotscraig, co. Fife [N.S., 1683] on 31 March 1917.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.3 He graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)3 On his death his baronetcy became extinct.4

     Ruth Mary Hayes was the daughter of James Hurst Hayes.1 She married Sir Alexander Maitland Sharp Bethune, 10th Bt., son of Sir Alexander Sharp Bethune of Scotscraig, 9th Bt. and Elizabeth Carnegie Maitland-Heriot, on 11 January 1955.1,2 She died on 24 August 2004.1
     Ruth Mary Hayes usually went by her middle name of Mary.1 From 11 January 1955, her married name became Sharp Bethune.1,2

     Colonel George Poulett Cameron was born in 1806.1 He was the son of Commander Robert Cameron.1 He married Louisa Agnes Alava Sorel, daughter of Sir Thomas Stephen Sorel and Hannah Margaret d'Averton.1 He died in 1882 at London, England.1
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1843.1 He wrote the book Personal Adventures and Excursions in Georgia, Circassia and Russia, published 1848.1
