     Theodore Edward Strachey was born on 9 June 1860.1 He was the son of Richard Charles Strachey and Charlotte Lindsay Hankin.1 He married Beatrice Catherine Marsden, daughter of Rt. Rev. Samuel Edward Marsden and Beatrice McLaren, on 29 January 1913.1 He married Ella de Burgh Utterson, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Archibald Hammond Utterson, on 20 February 1917.1 He died on 19 July 1921 at age 61.1
     He was admitted to Inner Temple entitled to practise as a barrister.1

     From 29 January 1913, her married name became Strachey.1

Samuel Edward Marsden was born on 1 February 1832 at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.2 He was the son of Thomas Marsden and Jane Catherine Marsden.2 He married Beatrice McLaren in January 1870 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.2 He died on 15 October 1912 at age 80 at Bristol, England.2
     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1855 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1858 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He held the office of Bishop of Bathurst, New South Wales between 1869 and 1885.1,2 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1870 with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)1,2 He held the office of Assistant Bishop of Gloucester and Bristol between 1892 and 1897.2

     He gained the rank of officer in the New Zealand Expeditionary Force.1 He fought in the First World War, at Gallipoli and in France.1

     She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)1 From 28 March 1929, her married name became Blackford.1 She fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in dispatches.1
