     Louisa Hamilton was born in 1686.3,4 She was the daughter of Robert Hamilton of Airdrie and Elizabeth Cochrane.1,5 She married James Balfour, 1st of Pilrig, son of James Balfour and Helen Smith, on 10 September 1704.6 She died in 1750.3,4
     From 10 September 1704, her married name became Balfour.1

     Major Gerald Ayshford Pole-Carew was born on 7 August 1887.1 He was the son of Charles Edward Pole-Carew and Ellen Henrietta Ayshford Sanford. He married Eileen Lorna O'Callaghan, daughter of Surgeon-Major George Henry Kenneth McDonald O'Callaghan, on 15 October 1915.1 He died on 9 November 1969 at age 82.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the Somerset Light Infantry.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd/4th Battalion, Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry.1 He was a mining engineer.1

     Eileen Lorna O'Callaghan was the daughter of Surgeon-Major George Henry Kenneth McDonald O'Callaghan. She married Major Gerald Ayshford Pole-Carew, son of Charles Edward Pole-Carew and Ellen Henrietta Ayshford Sanford, on 15 October 1915.1 She died in 1989.1
     From 15 October 1915, her married name became Pole-Carew.1

     He was educated at Clayesmore School, Iwerne Minster, Dorset, EnglandG.1 He served in the Royal Queen's Regiment between 1941 and 1947.1 He was with the Civil Staff of the Metropolitan Police, New Scotland Yard between 1948 and 1988.1 He lived at Flat B, 1 Royal Crescent, London, England.1
