     Jane McNeill was born on 19 December 1929 at Shanghai, China.3 She was the daughter of John McNeill and Amy Yvonne Maynard.1,4 She married Walter Francis John Montagu Douglas Scott, 9th Duke of Buccleuch, son of Walter John Montagu Douglas Scott, 8th Duke of Buccleuch and Vreda Esther Mary Lascelles, on 10 January 1953.1,5 She died on 18 April 2011 at age 81.6
     She was a fashion model, for the house of Norman Hartnell.4 Her married name became Montagu Douglas Scott. After her marriage, Jane McNeill was styled as Duchess of Buccleuch on 4 October 1973.
