He is the son of Major William Stewart, 13th of Ardvorlich and Sarah Lily Mary MacLaren.2 He married Violet Hermione Cameron, daughter of Sir Donald Walter Cameron of Lochiel, 25th Chief of Clan Cameron and Lady Hermione Emily Graham, on 23 April 1930.1
     He lived at Ardvorlich, Perthshire, ScotlandG.1
