Sir Edward Clive was born in 1704.1 He was the son of Edward Clive and Sarah Key.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Symons, daughter of Richard Symons.1 He married, secondly, Judith Clive, daughter of Reverend Benjamin Clive and Susannah Floyer.1 He died on 16 April 1771, without issue.1
He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1725 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for St. Michael's, Cornwall in 1741.1 He held the office of Baron of the Exchequer in 1745.1 He was appointed Knight in 1753.1 He held the office of Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in 1753.1 He lived at Wormbridge, Herefordshire, England.1
