Colonel Francis Towneley1

     Colonel Francis Towneley was born in 1709.1 He was the son of Charles Towneley and Ursula Fermor.1 He died on 30 July 1746 at London, England, executed.1
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the French service.1 In 1745 he raised and commanded a Jacobite Manchester Regiment.1 He was taken at Carlisle.1
