     Captain William Amherst Cecil was born on 30 June 1886.1 He was the son of Colonel Lord William Cecil and Mary Rothes Margaret Tyssen-Amherst, Baroness Amherst of Hackney.1 He married Gladys Evelyn Baggallay, daughter of Henry Charles Baggallay and Elizabeth Evelyn Richards, on 14 April 1910.1 He died on 16 September 1914 at age 28, killed in action.1
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.1 He fought in the First Battle of Aisne on 16 September 1914.1

Gladys Evelyn Baggallay1

     Gladys Evelyn Baggallay was born on 3 February 1884.1 She was the daughter of Henry Charles Baggallay and Elizabeth Evelyn Richards.2,1 She married Captain William Amherst Cecil, son of Colonel Lord William Cecil and Mary Rothes Margaret Tyssen-Amherst, Baroness Amherst of Hackney, on 14 April 1910.2 She died on 30 May 1947 at age 63.2
     Her married name became Cecil. On 25 August 1920 she was granted by royal warrant the rank of a Baron's widow.2

     Henry Charles Baggallay was born in 1863.2 He was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir Richard Baggallay and Marianne Lacy.2 He married Elizabeth Evelyn Richards, daughter of Alfred Richards, on 7 January 1882 at Lewisham, London, EnglandG.3
     He lived at Heatherhurst Grange, Deepcut Bridge Road, Deepcut, Camberley, EnglandG.1

     Colonel Lord William Cecil was born on 2 November 1854.2 He was the son of William Alleyne Cecil, 3rd Marquess of Exeter and Lady Georgina Sophia Pakenham.2 He married, firstly, Mary Rothes Margaret Tyssen-Amherst, Baroness Amherst of Hackney, daughter of William Amhurst Tyssen-Amherst, 1st Baron Amherst of Hackney and Margaret Susan Mitford, on 2 September 1885.1 He married, secondly, Violet Maud Freer, daughter of Percy Freer, on 14 August 1924.3 He died on 16 April 1943 at age 88.3
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.2 He held the office of Groom-in-Waiting to HM Queen Victoria between 1892 and 1901.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 4th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.2 He was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1909.2 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the 4th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.2 He held the office of Extra Gentleman-Usher to HM King George V between 1924 and 1936.2 He was appointed Bailiff Grand Cross, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (G.C.St.J.)2 He held the office of Extra Gentleman-Usher to HM King Edward VIII in 1936.2 He held the office of Extra Gentleman-Usher to HM King George VI in 1937.2

     Mary Rothes Margaret Tyssen-Amherst, Baroness Amherst of Hackney was born on 25 April 1857.1 She was the daughter of William Amhurst Tyssen-Amherst, 1st Baron Amherst of Hackney and Margaret Susan Mitford.1 She married Colonel Lord William Cecil, son of William Alleyne Cecil, 3rd Marquess of Exeter and Lady Georgina Sophia Pakenham, on 2 September 1885.1 She died on 21 December 1919 at age 62.1,2 She was buried on 26 December 1919 at Stowlaughton Church, Suffolk, EnglandG.2
     She was given the name of Tyssen-Amhurst at birth.1 She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)1 She was appointed Dame of Justice, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.J.St.J.)1 Her name was legally changed to Tyssen-Amherst.1 Her married name became Cecil. She succeeded as the 2nd Baroness Amherst of Hackney, co. London [U.K., 1892] on 16 January 1909, suo jure.1

     Violet Maud Freer was the daughter of Percy Freer.1 She married, firstly, Herbert Oswald Collyer before 1924.1 She married, secondly, Colonel Lord William Cecil, son of William Alleyne Cecil, 3rd Marquess of Exeter and Lady Georgina Sophia Pakenham, on 14 August 1924.1 She died on 9 January 1957.2
     From before 1924, her married name became Collyer.1 Her married name became Cecil. She was appointed Dame of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.G.St.J.)2
