Captain Sir Alexander Dixie, 9th Bt. was born in 1780.1 He was the son of Reverend Beaumont Joseph Dixie and Margaret Shewen.2 He married, firstly, Rosamund Mary Churchill, daughter of Reverend Joseph Dixie Churchill, in 1818.1 He married, secondly, Rebecca Barnham, daughter of Thomas Barnham, after 1831.1 He died on 29 December 1857.1
He was commissioned in 1796, in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.1 He fought in the War of 1812 in 1814, in command of Chesapeake and Saracen.1 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Dixie, of Market Bosworth, co. Leicester [E., 1660] on 23 July 1850.1 He gained the rank of Captain on 1 July 1851 in the Royal Navy.1
