Charles Edward Piercy Henderson was born on 7 March 1887.1 He was the son of Edward Piercy Henderson and Alice Georgina Lilian Elsmie.1 He was baptised on 6 April 1887 at Lahore, Bengal, India.1 He died on 17 November 1916 at age 29 at Martinpuich, Pas de Calais, France, killed in action.1
He was commissioned in 1906, in the service of the Royal Field Artillery.1 In 1913 he invented an anti-aircraft gear.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Field Artillery.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He was a balloonist.1 He was awarded the Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur.1
