     Oliver Robin Bagot was born on 10 December 1914.1,2 He was the son of Henry Melville Gaskell and Dorothy Bagot.1 He married Annette Dorothy Stephens, daughter of Commander F. R. Stephens, in 1938.1 He died on 29 January 2000 at age 85 at Kendal, Westmorland, England.3,4,2
     Oliver Robin Bagot usually went by his middle name of Robin.5 He was given the name of Oliver Robin Gaskell at birth.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 In 1936 his name was legally changed to Oliver Robin Bagot by Royal Licence.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was taken Prisoner of War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 4th Battalion, Border Regiment (Territorial Army.)1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Westmorland in 1948.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (F.R.I.C.S.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Cumberland in 1967.1 He lived in 1999 at Levens Brow, Kendal, Westmorland, EnglandG.1
