     Hon. Edward Plantagenet Joseph Corbally Stourton was born on 24 March 1880.¹ He was the son of Alfred Joseph Stourton, 24th Baron Segrave and Mary Margaret Corbally.¹ He married Beatrice Cicely Page, daughter of Harold Ethelbert Page, on 14 July 1934.¹ He died on 6 March 1966 at age 85.¹
     He was given the name of Edward Plantagenet Joseph Stourton at birth. He was educated at Ampleforth College, Ampleforth, Yorkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Beaumont College, Old Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1902.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded twice and was mentioned in despatches four times.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.¹ In 1927 his name was legally changed to Edward Plantagenet Joseph Corbally Stourton.¹ He was commander of the 1st Battalion, King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry between 1929 and 1932.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in 1933.¹
