Arthur Charles St. John Lawson Johnston, 3rd Baron Luke was born on 13 January 1933.1 He was the son of Ian St. John Lawson Johnston, 2nd Baron Luke and Barbara Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe.1 He married, firstly, Silvia Maria Roigt, daughter of Don Honoria Roigt, on 6 August 1959.1 He and Silvia Maria Roigt were divorced in 1971.1 He married, secondly, Sarah Louise Hearne, daughter of Richard Hearne, on 7 June 1971.1 He died on 2 October 2015 at age 82.2
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1954 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He held the office of Member of Bedfordshire County Council between 1965 and 1970.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Bedfordshire between 1969 and 1970.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Luke, of Pavenham, co. Bedford [U.K., 1929] on 25 May 1996.1 He was appointed Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.)1
