     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902. He gained the rank of Major in the King's Royal Rifle Corps Boer.1 He fought in the First World War, and was mentioned in despatches four times. He lived at Vigila, Zimbabwe.1

     Vice-Admiral Sir Baldwin St. Aubyn Wake was born on 1 November 1882 at London, England.1,2 He was the son of Sir Hereward Wake, 12th Bt. and Catherine St. Aubyn.3 He died on 1 October 1951 at age 68, unmarried.1
     He fought in the China War in 1900.1 He fought in the First World War. He was awarded the Order of St. Anne of Russia 3rd Class with swords.1 He was awarded the Knight Commander, Order of King George I of Greece. He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King George V in 1933.1 He was Director of Naval Equipment between 1934 and 1936. He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1935.1 He was Admiral Superintendent of contract-built ships between 1937 and 1944. He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1944.1
