     Sir John James Ingham Whitaker, 4th Bt. was born on 23 October 1952.1 He is the son of Sir James Herbert Ingham Whitaker, 3rd Bt. and Mary Elisabeth Lander Johnston.2 He married Elizabeth Jane Ravenscroft Starke, daughter of Laurence James Ravenscroft Starke, on 31 January 1981.1
     Sir John James Ingham Whitaker, 4th Bt. also went by the nick-name of Jack.2 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Bristol University, Bristol, England, with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)1 He was registered as a Member, Institute of Electrical Engineering (M.I.E.E.)1 He was appointed Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants (F.C.A.)1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Whitaker, of Babworth, co. Nottingham [U.K., 1936] on 13 January 1999.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire between 2001 and 2002.1 He lived in 2003 at Babworth Hall, Retford, Nottinghamshire, England.1
