Alexander Young Spearman was born on 27 November 1872.1 He was the son of Colonel Horace Ralph Spearman and Isabella Sutherland.2 He married Mary Cramond Etches, daughter of Edward Etches, on 8 November 1898.1 He died on 24 October 1911 at age 38.1
He fought in the Nile Expedition in 1898.1 He gained the rank of Captain and Brevet Major in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1901 and 1902, where he was mentioned in dispatches.1

Lt.-Cdr. Alexander Young Spearman was born on 8 January 1904.1 He was the son of Alexander Young Spearman and Mary Cramond Etches.2 He died on 2 October 1942 at age 38, in H.M.S. Curacao in a collision with R.M.S. Queen Mary.1
