Diederik van Polanen Heer van Breda en De-Leck was born in 1330.1 He was the son of Jan I van Duivenvoorde Heer van Breda Castricum en Heemskerk and Catharina van Brederode Vrouwe van Polanen.1 He married Elburge van Arkel Vrouwe van Asperen, daughter of Otto II van Arkel Heer van Asperen en Hagestein and Aleida d'Avesnes, in 1366.1 He died in 1410.1
