     Sir John Charles Rodgers, 1st Bt. was born on 5 October 1906.1 He was the son of Charles Rodgers and Maud Mary Hodgson.2 He married Betsy Aikin-Sneath, daughter of Francis William Aikin-Sneath and Louisa Langworthy Baker, on 23 December 1930.1 He died in 1993.1
     He was educated at St. Peter's School, York, Yorkshire, England.3 He graduated from Keble College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1928 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was Lecturer and Administration Assistant in 1930 at Hull University, Hull, Yorkshire, England.1 He was educated at Ecole des Roches, France.3 He was with the Foreign Office in 1939.1 He graduated from Keble College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1948 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Sevenoaks between 1950 and 1976.1 He was deputy chairman of J Walter Thompson in 1960.1 He was created 1st Baronet Rodgers, of Groombridge, co. Kent [U.K.] on 29 June 1964.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Kent in 1973.1

     Betsy Aikin-Sneath was born on 29 August 1907 at Paignton, Devon, England.2 She was the daughter of Francis William Aikin-Sneath and Louisa Langworthy Baker.3,2 She married Sir John Charles Rodgers, 1st Bt., son of Charles Rodgers and Maud Mary Hodgson, on 23 December 1930.1 She died between May 1998 and June 1998 at Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England.2
     She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 From 23 December 1930, her married name became Rodgers. She graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)1
