     Charles Alexander Colville, 3rd Viscount Colville of Culross was born on 26 May 1888.1 He was the son of Charles Robert William Colville, 2nd Viscount Colville of Culross and Ruby Streatfeild.2 He married Kathleen Myrtle Gale, daughter of Brig.-Gen. Henry Richmond Gale and Kathleen Jane Villiers-Stuart, on 21 May 1931.1 He died on 14 March 1945 at age 56 at AzoresG, killed on a flying accident on active service.1,3
     He fought in the Battle of Jutland on 31 May 1916, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.1 He succeeded as the 12th Lord Colville of Culross, [S., 1604] on 25 March 1928.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Colville of Culross, co. Perth [U.K., 1902] on 25 March 1928.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Colville, of Culross, co. Perth [U.K., 1885] on 25 March 1928.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Kincardineshire.1 He fought in the Second World War.1
