Henry John Tritton was born on 22 November 1842 at London, England.1 He was the son of Henry Tritton and Elizabeth Anne Maxwell.1 He married Anna Isabella Buller, daughter of Reverend Richard Buller and Elizabeth Hornby, on 31 May 1866 at Liskeard, Cornwall, England.1 He died on 17 February 1922 at age 79.2
