Elizabeth Jane Watson was the daughter of Joseph Watson.2 She married Sir Alfred James Newton, 1st Bt., son of George Beeforth Newton and Helen Rowe, on 24 June 1874.1 She died on 27 October 1945.1

Sir Harry Knottingham Newton, 2nd Bt. was born on 2 April 1875.1 He is the son of Sir Alfred James Newton, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Jane Watson.2 He married Myrtle Irene Grantham, daughter of William Wilson Grantham, on 5 June 1920.1 He died on 22 June 1951 at age 76.1
He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.1 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1898 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1899 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was Honourable Secretary of the City Imperial Volunteers serving in the Boer War
in 1900.1 He was vice-chairman of Harrods.1 He held the office of Lieutenant of the City of London.1 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1901 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Harwich between 1910 and 1922.1 He gained the rank of Major in 1914 in the Royal Army Service Corps.1 He was Deputy Assistant Director of Transport and Supplies, Eastern Command in 1915.1 He was Officer of the Chatham Administrative District.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Newton, of The Wood, Sydenham Hill, Lewisham, Kent and Kottingham House, Burton-on-Trent, co. Stafford [U.K., 1900] on 20 June 1921.1
