     Joan Florence Mary Grimston was the daughter of Rev. Hon. Robert Grimston and Gertrude Mary Amelia Villiers.2 She married Sir Cecil Gustavus Jacques Newman, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Sigmund Neumann, 1st Bt. and Anna Allegra Hakim, on 31 January 1922.1 She died on 15 September 1969.
     From 31 January 1922, her married name became Neumann.1 From 23 January 1936, her married name became Newman. She was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1964.1 She was President of North Hertfordshire County Association.1

     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Horse Guards.1 He was director of Rom River Company, Blick plc, Galloway Group.1 He lived in 2003 at Compton Park, Compton Chamberlayne, Wiltshire, England.1
