     Colonel Hon. Charles Granville Fortescue was born on 30 October 1861. He was the son of Hugh Fortescue, 3rd Earl Fortescue and Georgiana Augusta Charlotte Caroline Dawson-Damer.^1,2 He married Æthel Rosa Clarke, daughter of General Sir Charles Mansfield Clarke, 3rd Bt. and Gemma Cecilia Adams, on 29 December 1906.¹ He died on 1 February 1951 at age 89.²
     He fought in the Burma War between 1888 and 1889.² He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1899.² He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902.² He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1901.² He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1911.² He fought in the First World War.² He was awarded the Order of the White Eagle of Serbia 1st Class with Swords.² He gained the rank of Colonel and Honorary Brigadier-General in the Rifle Brigade.²

     Æthel Rosa Clarke was born circa 1869.¹ She was the daughter of General Sir Charles Mansfield Clarke, 3rd Bt. and Gemma Cecilia Adams.² She married, firstly, Captain Ernest George Campbell in October 1894.¹ She married, secondly, Colonel Hon. Charles Granville Fortescue, son of Hugh Fortescue, 3rd Earl Fortescue and Georgiana Augusta Charlotte Caroline Dawson-Damer, on 29 December 1906.¹ She died on 2 April 1967.¹
     From October 1894, her married name became Campbell. Her married name became Fortescue.

     Lt.-Col. Herbert Richard Hardinge was born on 14 May 1840.¹ He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Richard Hardinge and Caroline Johnson Callander.² He married Margaret Emelia Bruce, daughter of William Adair Bruce, on 1 October 1884.¹ He died on 7 April 1917 at age 76, without issue.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 32nd Regiment.¹

     Captain Ernest George Campbell married Æthel Rosa Clarke, daughter of General Sir Charles Mansfield Clarke, 3rd Bt. and Gemma Cecilia Adams, in October 1894.¹ He died on 29 August 1900 at South Africa^G, from wounds received in action.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Rifle Brigade.¹ He fought in the Boer War.¹

     Elizabeth Cockburn was the daughter of James Peel Cockburn and Ellen Peel.^2,3 She married Reverend Frederic Fane, son of Reverend Edward Fane and Maria Hodges, on 19 August 1851.² She died on 11 May 1861.¹
     Her married name became Fane.

     Sir William Cockburn of Langton, 11th Bt. was born in 1773.² He was the son of Sir James Cockburn of Langton, 8th Bt. and Augusta Anne Ayscough.¹ He married, firstly, Elizabeth Peel, daughter of Sir Robert Peel, 1st Bt. and Ellen Yates, on 30 December 1805.³ He married, secondly, Emma Pearse, daughter of Lt.-Col. unknown Pearse, on 14 September 1830.^1,4 He died on 30 April 1858 at The Rectory, Kelston, Somerset, England.¹
     He graduated from St. John's College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)⁵ He graduated from St. John's College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1798 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)⁵ He held the office of Dean of York between 1822 and 1858.¹ He graduated in 1832 with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)⁵ He was the Rector between 1832 and 1858 at Kelston, Somerset, England.⁴ He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Cockburn, of Langton, co. Berwicks [N.S., 1627] on 19 August 1853.¹

     Fanny Eliza Magniac was born circa 1827.² She was the daughter of Hollingworth Magniac and Helen Sampson.^3,4 She married Reverend Frederic Fane, son of Reverend Edward Fane and Maria Hodges, on 28 October 1864 at Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire, England^G.² She died on 5 May 1903 at Alton, Hampshire, England^G.^1,2 She was buried on 9 May 1903 at Ellingham, Hampshire, England^G.²
     Her married name became Fane.

     Hollingworth Magniac was born on 15 April 1786 at London, England^G.² He was the son of Colonel Francis Magniac and Frances Attwood.² He married Helen Sampson, daughter of Peter Sampson, in 1827.² He died on 31 March 1867 at age 80 at London, England^G.²

     Reverend Edward Fane was born on 7 December 1783 at Fulbeck, Lincolnshire, England^G.² He was the son of Henry Fane and Anne Batson.³ He married Maria Hodges, daughter of Walter Parry Hodges, on 7 October 1816.³ He died on 28 December 1862 at age 79.³ He was buried at Fulbeck, Lincolnshire, England^G.²
     He held the office of Prebendary of Salisbury.³ He held the office of Prebendary of Lincoln.¹ He was the Rector at Fulbeck, Lincolnshire, England^G.³

     Maria Hodges was born circa 1797.² She was the daughter of Walter Parry Hodges.³ She married Reverend Edward Fane, son of Henry Fane and Anne Batson, on 7 October 1816.¹ She died on 11 November 1850.¹
