     Hugh Blackburn was the son of John Blackburn and Rebecca Leslie Gillies. He married Jemima Wedderburn, daughter of Rt. Hon. James Wedderburn and Isabella Clerk, on 12 June 1849.1 He died in 1911.1
     He was Professor of Mathematics at Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, ScotlandG.1

James Wedderburn and Isabella Clerk.1 He married, firstly, Matilda Costello, daughter of Don Costello, in 1846.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Panton in 1875 at South Hampstead, London, England.1 He died on 4 January 1879 at age 58 at Haverstock Hill, Hampstead, London, England.1
     He gained the rank of Major-General in the Bengal Army.1
