Lt.-Col. George Ralph Miller was born on 23 December 1874.1 He was the son of Sir Henry John Miller and Jessie Orbell.2 He married Violet Mary Teschemaker, daughter of W H Teschemaker, on 21 February 1916.1 He died in 1948.1
He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1901.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches three times and was wounded twice.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1919.1
