     Patrick Murray was born in February 1685.¹ He was the son of Sir Patrick Murray of Ochtertyre, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Haldane.² He married, firstly, Anne Duncan, daughter of Alexander Duncan, 1st of Lundie and Anne Drummond, on 16 September 1709.¹ He died in November 1773 at age 88.¹
     He lived at Ayton, Berwickshire, Scotland.¹
