     He was given the name of John Courtown Edward Shelley at birth.¹ He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Boer War in 1900.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Scots Guards.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Monmouthshire.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hampshire.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Shelley, of Castle Goring, co. Sussex [U.K., 1806] on 20 July 1902.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 3rd Queen's Westminsters Cadet Battalion.¹ On 19 May 1917 his name was legally changed to John Courtown Edward Shelley-Rolls by Royal Licence.² He held the office of High Sheriff of Monmouthshire in 1928.¹

     Sir Percy Bysshe Shelley, 7th Bt. was born on 24 June 1872.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir Charles Shelley, 5th Bt. and Lady Mary Jane Jemima Stopford.¹ He died on 24 September 1953 at age 81, unmarried.¹
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Shelley, of Castle Goring, co. Sussex [U.K., 1806] on 18 February 1951.¹

Eleanor Georgiana Rolls was born on 9 October 1872 at Mayfair, London, England^G.² She was the daughter of John Allan Rolls, 1st Baron Llangattock and Georgiana Marcia Maclean.¹ She married Sir John Courtown Edward Shelley-Rolls, 6th Bt., son of Lt.-Col. Sir Charles Shelley, 5th Bt. and Lady Mary Jane Jemima Stopford, on 23 April 1898.¹ She died on 15 September 1961 at age 88.³
     From 23 April 1898, her married name became Shelley. On 19 May 1917 her name was legally changed to Shelley-Rolls.¹

     John Allan Rolls, 1st Baron Llangattock was born on 19 February 1837.¹ He was the son of John Etherington Welch Rolls and Elizabeth Mary Long.^1,2 He married Georgiana Marcia Maclean, daughter of Sir Charles Fitzroy Maclean, 9th Bt. and Emily Eleanor Marsham, on 20 October 1868.¹ He died on 24 September 1912 at age 75.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Gloucestershire Hussars.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Monmouthshire in 1875.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Monmouthshire between 1880 and 1885.¹ He was created 1st Baron Llangattock, of the Hendre, co. Monmouth [U.K.] on 30 August 1892.¹ He held the office of Mayor of Monmouth between 1896 and 1899.¹

     Holly Andrée Lubbock was born on 29 August 1976.¹ She is the daughter of Jeremy Michael Lubbock and Philippa Harriet Chadwyck-Healey.¹

     Lieutenant Cecil William Charles Shelley was born on 5 September 1873.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir Charles Shelley, 5th Bt. and Lady Mary Jane Jemima Stopford.¹ He married Sybil Bertie Peel, daughter of Lawrence Richard Peel, on 11 November 1903.¹ He died on 17 October 1915 at age 42, killed in action.¹
     He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Scots Guards.¹

     Sybil Bertie Peel was the daughter of Lawrence Richard Peel.¹ She married Lieutenant Cecil William Charles Shelley, son of Lt.-Col. Sir Charles Shelley, 5th Bt. and Lady Mary Jane Jemima Stopford, on 11 November 1903.¹ She died on 30 July 1906.¹
     Her married name became Shelley.
