     He fought in the Boer War between 1901 and 1902.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 3rd Somerset Light Infantry.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1

     Charles Stanley Mordaunt was born, on 4 June 1886.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. James Sparrow Mordaunt and Harriet Theresa Gibbs.2 He married Edith Violet Wood, daughter of Richard Somerville Wood and Frances Harriet Moodie, in 1915.1 He died on 4 May 1946 at age 59, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery (Territorial Army.)1
