     Donald Macdonald is the son of Ranald Macdonald, 1st of Benbecula and Margaret Macdonald.2 He married unknown daughter Macneil, daughter of Neil 'Og' Macneil, 16th of Barra and Margaret Maclean.1
     In 1658 he received a tack of Boisdale.1

     Donald Macdonald was born in 1665.1 He was the son of Donald Macdonald and unknown daughter Macneil.2 He married Mary Maclean, daughter of Lachlan Maclean of Torloisk, in 1713.1
     He fought in the Battle of Killiecrankie on 27 July 1689, under his cousin Benbecula (later 15th Chief of Clanranald.)1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Macdonald Highlanders.1

     Mary Maclean is the daughter of Lachlan Maclean of Torloisk.2 She married Donald Macdonald, son of Donald Macdonald and unknown daughter Macneil, in 1713.1
     Isle of Mull.1 Her married name became Macdonald.

     Donald Macdonald was the son of Donald Macdonald and Mary Maclean.2 He married Janet Payne Carlyle, daughter of unknown Carlyle of Brydekirk and Brakenquhate, on 12 August 1754.1 He died on 9 April 1781.1
     He gained the rank of officer in 1745 in the Jacobite Army.1
