Lt.-Col. Sir George Ramsay Maitland, 7th Bt. was born on 20 December 1882.1 He was the son of Sir John Nisbet Maitland, 5th Bt. and Annie Florence Mary Rickman.2 He married Jean Hamilton Findlay, daughter of Robert Findlay, on 19 February 1919.1 He died on 1 November 1960 at age 77.2
He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, London, England.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1901 and 1902.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre Belgian.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 14th Murray's Jat Lancers, Indian Army.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.1 He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Angus in 1932.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Angus in 1942.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Maitland, of Clifton, Midlothian [U.K., 1818] on 27 November 1949.1

Claire Marjoribanks Maitland was the daughter of Sir John Nisbet Maitland, 5th Bt. and Annie Florence Mary Rickman.2 She married Field Marshal George Francis Milne, 1st Baron Milne, son of George Milne and Williamina Panton, on 3 June 1905.2 She died on 15 December 1970.1
From 3 June 1905, her married name became Milne. She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1920.1 She was appointed Dame of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.G.St.J.)1 After her marriage, Claire Marjoribanks Maitland was styled as Baroness Milne on 26 January 1933.
From 3 June 1905, her married name became Milne. John Ramsay Maitland was born on 11 October 1924.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir George Ramsay Maitland, 7th Bt. and Jean Hamilton Findlay.2 He married, firstly, Nan Margaret Findlay, daughter of Brigadier Charles Bannatyne Findlay, on 29 October 1952.1 He and Nan Margaret Findlay were divorced.1 He married, secondly, Kathleen Mary Desmond, daughter of Vivian Charles Desmond, on 7 February 1968.1 He died on 16 March 2012 at age 87.3
