     John Lamont of that Ilk was born in 1741.1 He was the son of Archibald Lamont of that Ilk and Lady Æmilia Mackenzie.2 He married Helen Campbell, daughter of Duncan Campbell of South Hall, on 10 August 1773.1 He died in 1816.1

     Helen Campbell was the daughter of Duncan Campbell of South Hall.2 She married John Lamont of that Ilk, son of Archibald Lamont of that Ilk and Lady Æmilia Mackenzie, on 10 August 1773.1 She died in 1840.1
     From 10 August 1773, her married name became Lamont.

     Maj.-Gen. John Lamont of that Ilk was born in 1774.1 He was the son of John Lamont of that Ilk and Helen Campbell.2 He married Rebecca Hobbs, daughter of George Hobbs of Barnaboy, in 1805.1 He died in 1827.1
     He rebuilt Ardlamont, sold Inneryne, and inherited Robroyston from his cousin Archibald.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Bute.1 He gained the rank of Major-General.1

     Rebecca Hobbs is the daughter of George Hobbs of Barnaboy.2 She married Maj.-Gen. John Lamont of that Ilk, son of John Lamont of that Ilk and Helen Campbell, in 1805.1
     From 1805, her married name became Lamont.

Archibald James Lamont of that Ilk1

     Archibald James Lamont of that Ilk was born in 1818.2 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. John Lamont of that Ilk and Rebecca Hobbs.3 He married, firstly, Adelaide Massy-Dawson, daughter of James Hewitt Massy-Dawson and Eliza Jane Dennis, on 1 September 1839.2 He married, secondly, Harriet Campbell, daughter of Colonel Alexander Campbell, 1st of Possil and Harriet Maclachlan, in March 1844.1 He died on 5 May 1862.2
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Argyllshire.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Argyllshire.2

George Leighton Seager, 1st Baron Leighton of Saint Mellons1

     George Leighton Seager, 1st Baron Leighton of Saint Mellons was born on 11 January 1896.1 He was the son of Sir William Henry Seager and Margaret Annie Elliot.2 He married Marjorie Gimson, daughter of William Henry Gimson, on 19 January 1921.1 He died on 17 October 1963 at age 67.1
     George Leighton Seager, 1st Baron Leighton of Saint Mellons usually went by his middle name of Leighton.1 He was educated at Queen's College, Taunton, Somerset, England.1 He gained the rank of officer in the Artists Rifles.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was invalided.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1932.1 He was partner of W H Seager & Company and Seager's Shipping Supplies.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Monmouthshire.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Monmouthshire in 1938.1 He was appointed Knight in 1938.1 He was director of Tempus Shipping, Victory Shipping, Cardiff Channel Dry Dock, Barry Graving Dock, New Egypt and Levant Shipping Company, and Atlantic Shipping and Trading Company.1 He was created 1st Baronet Seager, of St. Mellons, co. Monmouth [U.K.] on 1 July 1952.1 He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire in 1957.1 He was created 1st Baron Leighton of Saint Mellons, of St. Mellons, co. Monmouth [U.K.] on 25 January 1962.1

     Adelaide Massy-Dawson was the daughter of James Hewitt Massy-Dawson and Eliza Jane Dennis.2 She married Archibald James Lamont of that Ilk, son of Maj.-Gen. John Lamont of that Ilk and Rebecca Hobbs, on 1 September 1839.1 She died on 24 June 1841.1
     From 1 September 1839, her married name became Lamont.

     Major John Henry Lamont of that Ilk was born on 10 March 1854.1 He was the son of Archibald James Lamont of that Ilk and Harriet Campbell.2 He died in 1929, unmarried.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the 9th Lancers.1 In 1893 he sold Ardlamont and settled in Devon.1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 12 January 1909.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Argyllshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Argyllshire.1
