     Hon. Caroline Mary Elizabeth Morgan-Grenville was born on 26 June 1886.1 She was the daughter of Major Luis Ferdinand Harry Courthorpe Morgan-Grenville and Mary Temple-Nugent-Brydges-Chandos-Grenville, Lady Kinloss.2 She married Major Thomas Close Smith, son of Henry Flesher Smith, on 6 January 1909.1 She died on 24 April 1972 at age 85.1
     Hon. Caroline Mary Elizabeth Morgan-Grenville also went by the nick-name of May.1 From 6 January 1909, her married name became Smith. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Buckinghamshire.1

     Major Thomas Close Smith was the son of Henry Flesher Smith.2 He married Hon. Caroline Mary Elizabeth Morgan-Grenville, daughter of Major Luis Ferdinand Harry Courthorpe Morgan-Grenville and Mary Temple-Nugent-Brydges-Chandos-Grenville, Lady Kinloss, on 6 January 1909.1 He died on 16 November 1946.1
     He held the office of High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire in 1942. He lived at Boycott Manor, Buckinghamshire, England.1

     Lt.-Col. Richard Sydney Grenville Close-Smith was born on 26 January 1910.1 He was the son of Major Thomas Close Smith and Hon. Caroline Mary Elizabeth Morgan-Grenville.2 He married, firstly, Florence Amelia von Ompteda, daughter of Robert Ludwig Wilhelm August Baron von Ompteda, on 19 July 1935.1 He and Florence Amelia von Ompteda were divorced in 1954.1 He married, secondly, Josephine Judith Mullins, daughter of Vincent Wood Mullins, on 12 April 1954.1 He died on 15 July 1973 at age 63.1,3
     He was given the name of Richard Sydney Grenville Smith at birth.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was commissioned in 1928, in the service of the Buckinghamshire Yeomanry.1 He gained the rank of officer in 1932 in the 4th Queen's Own Hussars.1 He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1941, when he became a POW.1 He fought in the Malayan Emergency between 1948 and 1951, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1950.1 He retired from the military in 1954, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.1 On 20 March 1954 his name was legally changed to Richard Sydney Grenville Close-Smith by Deed Poll.1

Richard Sydney Grenville Close-Smith were divorced in 1954.1
