Herbert Kershaw, 2nd Baron Kershaw1

     Herbert Kershaw, 2nd Baron Kershaw was born on 21 August 1904.1 He was the son of Fred Kershaw, 1st Baron Kershaw and Frances Edith Wigmore.2 He married Cissie Burness Smyth, daughter of Charles E. Smyth, in 1933.1 He died on 18 July 1961 at age 56, without issue.1
     He was educated at Glendale County School, Wood Green, London, England.1 He gained the rank of officer between 1942 and 1945 in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Kershaw, of Prestwich, co. Palatine of Lancaster [U.K., 1947] on 5 February 1961.1

     Cissie Burness Smyth was the daughter of Charles E. Smyth.2 She married Herbert Kershaw, 2nd Baron Kershaw, son of Fred Kershaw, 1st Baron Kershaw and Frances Edith Wigmore, in 1933.1 She died on 15 May 2006.3
     From 1933, her married name became Kershaw. After her marriage, Cissie Burness Smyth was styled as Baroness Kershaw on 5 February 1961. She lived in 2003 at 29 St. Anne's Road, Newquay, Cornwall, EnglandG.1

     Hon. Donald Arthur Kershaw was born on 8 September 1916.1 He was the son of Fred Kershaw, 1st Baron Kershaw and Frances Edith Wigmore.2 He married Barbara Edith Ford, daughter of Lt.-Col. Cecil Graham Ford, on 1 August 1942.1 He died in 1991.1
     He was educated at Friern Barnet Grammar School, Friern Barnet, Hertfordshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force, during the Second World War.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for South-West London.1 He was solicitor and commissioner for oaths.1

     From 1 August 1942, her married name became Kershaw.
