Captain Edward Louis Dalrymple Boyle was born on 19 December 1864.2 He was the son of Captain Robert Boyle and Frances Sydney Fremoult Sankey.1,2 He married, firstly, Theodosia Isabella Ogilvie, daughter of Hon. Edward David Stewart Ogilvie and Theodosia Isabella Burgh, on 14 September 1889.2 He married, secondly, Sybil Mary Paget, daughter of Berkeley Paget and Gertrude Fanny Villiers, on 14 September 1912.1 He died on 15 December 1923 at age 58.2
He fought in the Egyptian War in 1882.2 He fought in the Sudan Campaign in 1884.2 Commander.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He was awarded the Order of the Crown of Italy.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1917.1
