John Boyle, 3rd Earl of Glasgow was born on 4 November 1714.1 He was the son of John Boyle, 2nd Earl of Glasgow and Helen Morison.1 He married Elizabeth Ross, daughter of George Ross, 13th Lord Ross of Halkhead and Lady Elizabeth Kerr, on 11 July 1755.1 He died on 7 March 1775 at age 60.1
He fought in the Battle of Fontenoy, where he was wounded.1 He gained the rank of Cornet in the Scots Greys.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Glasgow [S., 1703] on 22 May 1740.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Kelburn [S., 1703] on 22 May 1740.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Boyle, of Stewartoun, Cumbraes, Fenwick, Largs and Dalry [S., 1703] on 22 May 1740.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Boyle, of Kelburn, Stewartoun, Finnick, Largs and Dalry [S., 1699] on 22 May 1740.1 He held the office of High Commissioner of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland between 1754 and 1772.1

Sir George Douglas, 2nd Bt. was born on 1 March 1754.2 He was the son of Rear-Admiral Sir James Douglas, 1st Bt. and Helen Brisbane.2 He married Lady Elizabeth Boyle, daughter of John Boyle, 3rd Earl of Glasgow and Elizabeth Ross, on 16 October 1786.1 He died on 4 June 1821 at age 67.1
He gained the rank of officer between 1771 and 1789 in the 1st Foot Guards.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Roxburghshire between 1784 and 1806.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Douglas, of Springwood Park, co. Roxburgh [N.S., 1786] on 2 November 1787.2 He gained the rank of officer in the 21st Foot.2
